Coronavirus Information (COVID-19)
This message is to inform you about our plans to address the coronavirus (COVID-19) situation in our area. Due to the concentration of pregnant patients in our office at any given time, our goal is to minimize potential exposure to this at-risk population. We do not offer testing for influenza or COVID-19 at our office.
Therefore, we will begin screening our patients using the following CDC recommendations,
- Does the person have a fever or respiratory symptoms such as cough or shortness of breath?
- Has the patient had close contact with a person with COVID-19 in the past 14 days?
- Have you traveled to or from an area with an active community spread outbreak of COVID-19?
If you answered Yes to any of the questions above, please call our office PRIOR to your appointment so that we can determine the best care option available for you. If you arrive at the office and meet criteria, your appointment may be rescheduled or you may be referred to a testing facility. Do not come for your appointment if you are experiencing fever, flu-like or respiratory symptoms. Call the office to allow us to assist in treatment decisions. All gynecology patients are asked to reschedule if you are experiencing symptoms. Obstetrical patients with symptoms are asked to call prior to their appointment so special arrangements can be made to provide care.
In effort to control the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19) and protect our patients, we request that no one accompany the patient to their appointment, except one visitor is allowed to attend the New OB scan and the Anatomy scan. If the patient is a minor and desires a parent or guardian to attend the visit, call the office to discuss. If this policy poses a hardship on you, call the office to discuss.
Telehealth visits are now available for select OB and GYN appointments. Call our office for more information.
Because this is a rapidly changing situation, the CDC and local public health authorities are providing updated information regarding travel and other questions. The CDC website is https://wwwnc.cdc.gov/travel/notices.
