Dr. Roethling completed his undergraduate studies at UNC, Chapel Hill, where he went on to earn his medical degree. He then completed his residency at the University of Louisville Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Among his honors is Phi Beta Kappa, 1988.

Dr. Roethling is Board Certified by the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology, a member of the North Carolina Medical Association and the American Medical Association.
