Melissa Black is a Certified Nurse-Midwife who completed her bachelor's degree in nursing at the University of South Carolina Columbia in 2003. Over her career, she has worked as a Registered Nurse in various areas including labor & delivery, home health, and the legal field. She completed her master's degree in nursing with a concentration in Nurse-Midwifery at East Carolina University in 2021.  

Melissa has called Wayne County, NC home since 2008. She lives in Mount Olive, NC with her husband, Chris, who is retired from the U.S. Air Force, and their two sons. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, gardening, and crafting and is an avid football fan. Melissa is passionate about women’s health, patient education, and advocacy and she is proud to be a Centering Pregnancy Facilitator. She is excited to be a part of the Wayne Women’s Clinic team!
